can anyone break the eyes with regard to the rank of a matrix concept quickly

Rank of a matrix is basically the number of rows that do not completely have 0s after you do row operations like your Gaussian Elimination or Gauss-Jordan.
You know some matrices are nasty because after you do that row echelon form, you find that maybe the bottom row only has 0s. So if you initially had 3 rows and the bottom row becomes a row of 0s, the rank becomes 2 (the number of rows that are not completely 0s).
